AN INLAID PEAR-FORM BOTTLE
koryo dynasty (12th-13th century)
Set on a ring foot with ovoid body and cylindrical neck rising to a flared mouth, inlaid in white and black slip with cranes, willows and a stream and with foliate scroll along the neck, the cranes white with black details, the willows, stream and scroll black, the bottle further decorated in relief and in fine incised lines with a band of overlapping stiff leaves above the foot, covered by a greyish green celadon glaze, more brownish-green on one side, with large crackle-- 11¾in. (29.8cm.) high, neck and mouth restored
