An Italian early 17th Century pyx
on a spreading circular foot, with a swollen tapering knopped stem, the oblong pyx chased with squares of stylised foliage and with a rising hinged cover with hasp fastener and crucifix finial, the cover and the foot each with presentation inscription dated 1622 - 5¼in. (13.25cm.), with an exhibition catalogue illustrated the piece on page 76.
