    GREEN PRINTED UPPERCASE MARK AND A, CIRCA 1896
    Modelled after the Sèvres form 'Vase á Bâtons Rompus', with oak knop finial, the spiral gadrooned neck flanked by angular S-curved handles suspending oak garlands attached by rings at the shoulder, the bulbous body set with a white enamelled circular dial, headed by a trophy, the back with a Classical mask within a sunburst, above a waisted fluted socle and shaped foot, the column moulded with four scantily clad nymphs at the capitol and base, the upper mid-section moulded and gilt with tassels above further spiral gadrooning edged by rosettes, the lower section with vertical panels of flowers, on a giltwood stand carved with scrolling acanthus leaves

For similar examples to the present lot compare, anonymous sale, Christie's, New York, 31 March 2000, lot 162; and an anonymous sale, Christie's, London, 1 November 2001, lot 120.
