AN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND RED-DECORATED YENYEN VASE KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722) The vase painted with eight ogival panels depicting the Eight Daoist Immortals, the figures in the four panels on the lower part of the body with robes decorated in underglaze red and blue with shou characters, all reserved against a diaper pattern, with a narrow band of cross-hatching encircling the base, another encircling the waist and a similar band beneath the trumpet-shaped mouth, with an artemesia leaf mark on the base 18 in. (45.6 cm.) high
