An Unusual Cased Pair Of 38-Bore Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Travelling Pistols

With octagonal sighted barrels each inscribed 'Newcastle' on the top flat and with a band of engraved ornament at the rear of the breech, engraved tangs, flat bevelled cocks each signed 'Haddou' and with roller, semi-rainproof pan, engraved stepped tail, and safety-catch, figured walnut full stocks, engraved brass mounts, chequered butts, brass escutcheons, and original horn-tipped ramrods each with worm: in contemporary lined and fitted oak case with some accessories, the lid with trade label of Wilson's Gun & Pistol Warehouse, No 1, Vigo Lane, Sackville St.t, London, and flush-fitting carrying handle
