AN UNUSUAL ENGLISH SILVER-MOUNTED HANGER London silver hallmark, late 17th Century With curved single-edged fullered blade, double-edged towards the point and struck on each face with two copper-inlaid marks, one an orb and cross, the hilt with short straight quillons (bent) each terminating in a monster-head, and pistol-shaped agate grip with deep silver ferrule at the base engraved with band of repeated leaves and with engrailed edge, the button of silver encircled by human masks and mounted on a shaped cartouche, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard (damaged) with silver locket (damaged) and chape (replaced), the former en suite with the grip ferrule, silversmith's mark WK conjoined 18¾in. (47.6cm.)
