Paul Dermée and Michel Seuphor were two of the founders of the arts journal, L'Esprit Nouveau. A poet, Dadaist and proto-Surrealist, Dermée had, unbeknownst to Kertész, penned the poem that appeared on the announcement for Slivinsky's Sacre du Printemps exhibition (see frontispiece).
