Nine gelatin silver prints, 15 5/8 x 11¾in., each with photographer's credit stamp on verso. (9)
These photographs were sent by Picasso to the Italian sculptor Berti who had previously created a sculpture of the Minister François Mitterand. It was Mitterand who suggested that Berti should do a sculpture of Picasso and these were the photographs used by the sculptor to work from. Two sculpture busts were completed, one went to Picasso and another to Berti's son. The photographs were given by Berti to present owner.
