A PATINATED BRONZE AND MARBLE DRESSING TABLE BY ARMAND ALBERT RATEAU, CIRCA 1920
We know of two other examples of this dressing table: one at the Palace of Liria in Madrid, in the apartments of the Duchess of Alba; the second, formerly in the Blumenthal's New York town house, now in the Metropolitan Museum. There exists a variant of this model without the mirror, but with the same base: one with grey marble top, belonging to Armand Albert Rateau ; the other with red marble top flanked by two towel rails, originally in Jeanne Lanvin's bathroom, now in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
