A VERY FINE COLLECTION QUARTET OF ASHBERY'S BEST-KNOWN POEM, and the work which codified Ashbery's place as perhaps America's preeminent post-war poet. Ashbery, a founding member of the group which came to be known as the New York School of poets, earned the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award for Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror. A fine association: Burt Britton was a New York City bookseller who with Jeanette Watson in 1979 co-founded Books & Co., one of the city's great promoters of modern poetry until it closed in 1997.
