First leaf illuminated with 7-line historiated initial in gold and colours with floral extension, coat-of-arms painted in lower margin, 3- to 7-line initial spaces, some with guide-letter. (Two small wormholes in first four quires, some light spotting, very light dampstain in final 2 quires.) Italian 18th-century gold-tooled vellum over thick pasteboard, ARMS OF POPE PIUS VI ON SIDES, spine gilt, lettered in second compartment.
