ASTON, FRANCIS WILLIAM. Isotopes. London: Edward Arnold, 1922. 8vo, original blue cloth. FIRST EDITION. PMM 412; Norman 77.
Using his invention, the mass spectograph, Aston was able to discover that elements are composed of atoms of varying masses. By this means he was able to show that the weight of an element was the average of the atoms comprising it. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1922.
