AUGSBURG, State and City Library -- Anton REISER (1628-1686). Index manuscriptorum Bibliothecae Augustanae cum adpenidice duplici, praemissus Historiae Literariae & Librariae ibid. Augsburg: J. Koppmaier for T. Goebel, 1675.
Small 4o (187 x 154 mm). Contemporary half vellum and spinkled boards. Provenance: Augsburg, Jesuit Society, Library (ownership inscription dated 1692 on title).
This is the third catalogue of the manuscripts owned by the Augsburg City Library, by its librarian Reiser; the first prepared by Wolf (1575), the second by Hoeschel (1595). The above catalogue "is preferable to all former ones; though the manuscripts described are to be found in the catalogues of Henischius and Ehinger, it is not less useful on that account. The two Appendixes indicate the editions of works, either printed at Augsburg, or to the publication of which the literati of that city contributed" (Horne, p. 576).
