Text bound in 19th-century quarter calf gilt (upper spine panel of vol. II chipped away, some light wear to spine ends), atlas bound in 19th-century green quarter morocco and marbled boards (light wear to edges and rubbing to covers).
FIRST EDITION. The atlas includes folding maps of South America, Paraguay and the Province of Buenos Aires, the Government of Buenos Aires, the Government of Paraguay and part of Chaco, and the Province of Chiquitos and Government of Matagroso and of Cuyaba; eight city plans and views, including a double-page plan and view of Buenos Aires, 7 animal plates, and 4 bird plates.
