BERTHOUD: A GILT METAL QUARTER REPEATING ATUOMATON VERGE WATCH SIGNED 'BERTHOUD', SWISS, EARLY 19TH CENTURY Frosted gilt chain fusee movement with pierced balance cock, incomplete repeating work with a plunge pendent striking on two gongs, the dial with silvered chapter ring and Arabic numerals and centre with the figure of Chronos and a classical lady apparently striking bells, with a blued steel grould and striking mechanism visible below, the gilt metal case with a ribbed band and plain back, case and movement signed 58 mm.
