4o (220 x 175 mm). Engraved Hebrew title-page within elaborate architectural border, three subtitles within woodcut borders. Letterpress Latin title-page with printer's device. (Occasional light soiling and marginal staining.) Contemporary black morocco gilt, remains of ties (rubbed and worn at extremities). Provenance: inscription on title-page ("Con Aitit Heidelberga cum ligatura... 10. att. 1658."); F. ?Grassel (inscription on verso of front flyleaf, 1831); early manuscript index on front flyleaf in Hebrew and Latin.
The second and most important of the editions prepared by Menasseh ben Israel. The part-titles are dated 1631, but the Latin general title and the colophon after Chronicles are dated 1635. Cowley p.88; Darlow & Moule 5124; Steinschneider 464; Zedner p.99.
