Illuminated by a contemporary Venetian artist, the first page with 15-line initial in blue and green on a magenta and gold ground with white patterning and extensions, headline on illusionistic scroll, central baguette terminating in Jesuit symbol within laurel wreath, floral extensions with gold dots in all borders, major initials opening prologues and books in gold on a green, blue or magenta gound with white or yellow patterning, smaller initials and paragraph marks in red or blue, some yellow capital strokes. (Small sections of fore-margins of first and final few quires lost through mildew, illumination on first page shaved and with small tear with slight loss at fore-margin, one initial smudged, occasional staining.) 18th-century calf, arms of Pope Pius VI at centre of sides, roll-tooled border, gilt spine, green edges (somewhat worn and stained).
