[Lyons]: Jean Crespin, 1527. 2° (320 x 226mm), ruled in red, title within a woodcut border made up of 5 blocks including the 6 days of Creation, the Last Supper and St Jerome, full-page woodcut at beginning of Old and New Testament, numerous smaller cuts in the text, all these and woodcut initials coloured by an early hand, the 3 leaves of the 'Canones Eusebii Pamphili' printed in red and black (D4 torn and crudely repaired, lightly browned throughout, a few stains). 18th-century half calf (rubbed). Provenance: several contemporary marginalia -- Thomas Edward Watson (bookplate; by descent to the present owners). Not in Darlow & Moule or Adams.
