BIVORT, A. Album de Pomologie. Brussels, 1850-52. 2 vols. only (of 4), oblong 4o. 96 hand-colored lithographed plates of fruit. Contemporary half morocco (dried). The set contains vols. 3 and 4 only. A POMOLOGICAL RARITY, not recorded in Nissen, Great Flower Books, Dunthorne, Pritzel, Stafleu or the catalogues of the British Library, British Museum (Natural History) or Kew. E.A. Bunyard describes the work, in his Gude to the Literature of Pomology, as "of great value... a wonderful record of the great number of fruits which were at this time being raised in Belgium" (JRHS.
