Blanche Hoschedé-Monet était la fille d'Alice et d'Ernest Hoschedé, importants mécènes de Claude Monet jusqu'en 1877. Les deux familles partirent ensemble en vacances en juillet 1878 à Vétheuil. Suite au decès de Madame Monet en 1879 et d'Ernest Hoschedé en 1891, Alice Hoschedé épousa Monet en 1892. Les années suivantes, Blanche voyagea dans de nombreuses régions où Monet allait peindre, dont la Méditérrannée et Londres. Cette vie auprès de l'artiste influenca certainement Blanche à devenir elle-même peintre.

Even after their patronship ended, the couple and their families vacationed together in July 1878 in Vétheuil. Following the death of Madame Monet in 1879 and of her husband's in 1891, Alice Hoschedé married the painter in 1892. In the years that followed Blanche traveled to many of the regions where Monet painted, including the Mediterranean and London, and this certainly influenced her in becoming a painter herself.
