Together 9 parts and supplement, 4o (283 x 218 mm). (The title to the Supplement has been misbound among the general preliminaries.) Contemporary half straight-grained apple-green morocco, spine gilt, t.e.g., others uncut (little wear to joints and edges). Provenance: Bibliotheca Lindesiana (bookplate); A.N.L. Munby (bookplate).
Published in a small number (Taylor) this is the owner's catalogue of the library at White Knights. "George Spencer, fifth Duke of Marlborough (1766-1840), better known to book-collectors as the Marquess of Blandford, spent enormous sums of money on his library at White Knights, near Reading. In 1814 he printed privately a catalogue of his... In 1819 he was compelled by circumstances to part with his library..." (De Ricci). The colophon at the end of the ninth fascicle is signed by Ballintine & Byworth; the supplement was printed by Bentley. RARE.
