BLYTON, Enid (1897-1968). Typescript with autograph emendations for a short story, 'News for Noddy and Big-Ears Story for T.V. Times Annual', Beaconsfield, n.d. [c.1956], approximately 32 emendations and additions in autograph, including cues for the insertion of pictures, title and 6 pages, 4to; with a note of provenance by Gillian Baverstock (Enid Blyton's daughter); and an autograph slip with photograph signed by Enid Blyton.
Provenance: presented to Benenden School, where Enid Blyton's daughters were educated.
The story plays with the novelty of television: Big-Ears's bicycle is stolen, and P.C. Plod is much more interested in watching his newly-acquired television set than in looking for it - until the programme Plod is watching shows 'that dreadful little Binkie Bear' winning a race on the bicycle in question.
