Contemporary German blindstamped calf over unbevelled wooden boards, front cover with lozenge- and heart-shaped ornaments, back cover with rosettes (stamps not in Kyriss or Schwenke-Sammlung, two fore-edge clasps fastening at centre of front cover on metal pins, 4 brass bosses on each cover, early paper contents label on front cover, evidence of chain staple at back, top and bottom spine compartments painted grey and lettered, vellum MS pastedowns preserved as flyleaves, leather index tabs (new pastedowns, lightly rubbed, some wear at extremities); modern morocco-backed folding case. Provenance: some early annotations.
A FINE SAMMELBAND. The four Sorg editions were evidently printed at about the same time and were available for purchase either together or separately. They often survive together, and Imago beatae virginis contains the blind impression of text from De oculo morali.
