8o (195 x 121 mm). (Minor dampstaining to lower margin.) Contemporary French red mococco gilt, triple fillets round sides, corners with acorn spray, edges gilt, probably by Jacques-Antoine Derome (minor rubbing to corners). Provenance: The Comte de Lignerolles (sale 1894, lot 3,259); Lucius Wilmerding (bookplate); A.L. McLaughlin (bookplate).
PRICED in a contemporary hand. The sale catalogue of the library of the Secretaire du Roi; the sale produced the vast sum of 30,000 livres. The binding is probably by Jacques-Antoine Derome. Blogie II, col. 7; North 113.
