Contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt, lower cover with the gilt coat-of-arms of the Comtesse d'Ons-en-Bray surmounted by a princely coronet (some splitting and wear, old repairs to the joints). Provenance: Comtesse d'Ons-en-Bray, née Princess de Gallifat-Martigues, wife of Louis-Léon Pajot, Comte d'Ons-en-Bray (see OHDR 150 & Rietstap, binding).
PRICED in a contemporary hand. Bourret was "Intendant de la Principauté de Neuf-Chastel & de Vallegin" (Neuchâtel -- "Neuenburg" -- was under the nominal rule of the Kings of Prussia between 1707 and 1857).
