Second (first trade) edition of this extraordinary, full description of Tycho's observatory and instruments on the island of Hven. The first, privately published, edition was printed at Count Rantzau's castle of Wandsbeck near Hamburg in 1598. Without Brahe's investigations the Copernican theory would have remained an unconfirmed hypothesis much longer. His observations at Uraniborg helped to establish the heliocentric theory on a firm foundation and formed the basis for Kepler's three laws of planetary motion.
