A prop Scottish claymore of Lowland type, the hilt with faceted white metal pommel and leather covered grip, straight quillons and leather covered ricasso with straight forty-seven inch double-edged aluminium blade -- made for the 1995 Icon Productions/20th Century Fox film Braveheart

This sword is identical to one used by Mel Gibson as William Wallace. Apparently eleven identical swords with aluminium blades were made for the film, a further three swords were made with steel blades for close-up shots, and two were made with retractable blades for special effects shots.
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
