William Young Carman FSA, FR Hist S, 1909 - 2003
After training at Richmond Art School and war service in the Royal Artillery, Bill Carman began production of his celebrated figures in 1947. They were sold through quality outlets such as Hamleys of London. He joined the Imperial War Museum in 1950, moving to the National Army Museum in 1965, retiring as Deputy Director in 1974.
