FIRST EDITION, letterpress title printed within engraved architectural border with allegorical figures, folding engraved map of the Congo, folding engraved map of Africa on two sheets, separate letterpress title to the engravings, 14 numbered half-page engravings with letterpress descriptions, woodcut 10-line and smaller ornamental initials and head-pieces; the engravings richly colored in a contemporary hand and highlighted in gold, the engraved title with contemporary and later coloring, maps and head-piece ornaments colored later.
