Together 39 volumes, 12o (162 x 94 mm). Together 576 engraved plates (some occasional pale foxing and soiling throughout). Contemporary French mottled calf, spines gilt with floral tools, brown morocco lettering pieces, marbled endpapers, marbled edges (few heads of spines chipped, some mostly light wear to extremities).
A very handsome early selection of Buffon's works, including the Quadrupeds and the Birds, the plates in generally fine and fresh condition. This edition not in Nissen, Wood. Sold as a collection of plates, not subject to return. (39)
