2 volumes, 12o (167 x 95). (Some occassional minor spotting.) Contemporary French calf, spines gilt, edges stained red (worn, lacking spine labels, front cover of volume II detached). Provenance: A.L. McLaughlin (bookplate).
The library of Charles de Bulteau, taken over by him from his brother Louis, contained about 10,000 works including manuscripts, maps, and a significant number of English books. The catalogue is prefaced by an 8-page account, in Latin, of Bulteau and his library, but does not contain the list of books withdrawn from the sale in accordance with a law of 1711 forbidding the sale of banned books.
