(Joints split, rubbed and scratched).
FIRST EDITION. Issue points, to which Todd does not ascribe precedence, are as follows: The 'M' in the imprint date is slightly to the right of 'D' of Dodsley, and the flower ornament on p. iv is pointing to the right. PMM 239: " ... one of the most brilliant of all polemics"; Todd 53a.
