FIRST EDITION, with 1 page publisher's advertisement for Don Domingo Juarros's History of Guatemala bound after title and 1 page advertisement leaf for The Liberal at end, neither called for by Wise or Randolph; signatures A and C watermarked "1822" and signature B watermarked "H. Smith 1818." Of the first three editions, all published in 1823, 3000 copies were printed, "but in the absence of Juhn Hunt's ledger and the printer's bills it is impossible to divide the number between the three editions" (Wise).
