By 1940 the Chevrolet division of General Motors became the mass-production line for the trucks in the 1½ ton class. The trucks were to represent approximately one third of all their military vehicle output. Their dependable six cylinder overhead mated to a four speed gearbox with two speed transfer proved to be a reliable combination. Today, they remain ever popular and many have seen secondary use as film props or such like.
This truck has been parked at a family residence for some years and left open to the elements. Its condition reflects this, having various areas of corrosion.
