Together 10 volumes bound in 2, 8o (154 x 95 mm). Contemporary boards, spines with gilt printed labels (some rubbing). Provenance: Ebrach in Franconia, Cistercian monastery ("Mon[ast]erii B.M.V. de Ebraco" contemporary inscription on title).
Cammerer, starting off "from direst poverty to become a small capitalist" (Kapp/Goldfriederich) originally specialized in the then flourishing trade of dissertations, many of which were printed by his brother, Johann Dietrich Michael, also in Erlangen, but established himself as a dealer in old books, including those of the 15th- and 16th- centuries. His 1784 catalogue offered many thousands of books, like his previous ones, arranged alphabetically by authors in sections according to the size of the books. Kapp and Goldfriederich only knew his 1796 catalogue; his dates appear to be unknown, but he must have been one of the foremost German antiquarian bookdealers of his time. Kapp/Goldfriedrich Geschichte des Deutschen Buchhandels, vol III, p. 527. (2)
