LD: ...I was always amazed by the length of the [marks] you hammered that [guitar]...on the first night, it was brand new...you had a capo on... and it happened after the first song...Do you remember we had to use a different pick because you kept busting the strings, we had to go to a different material plectrum because the Ernie [Ball] picks would just shred it and bust the high E .
CW: ...This was used on Motherless Child?
EC: Yes, that Barbecue Bob song that was on From The Cradle, the blues album, we went on the road with that. It was the opening song every night for the tour for the whole year. That was this guitar.
LD: It was an amazing start, you'd think there'd be something nice and quiet to start with and then 1-2-3-4..(imitates vigorous playing)
MF: Do you enjoy playing 12 strings?
EC: I love playing them...it's very hard to find a good model. Martins are incredible 12 strings.
