CHAPONE, Hester. Letters on the Improvement of the Mind, addressed to a Young Lady, London: J. Walter and C. and E. Dilly, 1777. 8° (a few light spots and stains). Contemporary vellum by or in the style of Edwards of Halifax, flat spine gilt in compartments and with title-label, inlaid gilt border round sides, on front cover a painted roundel showing a hunter greeting his wife and child, on the back cover an oval painting of Terpsichore, the Muse of the Dance, gilt edges (a little rubbed and slightly discoloured).
