Folio, 437 x 283 mm., half red morocco gilt, g.e., by Riviere, extremities worn and chipped, title soiled and stained, a few minor repairs and restorations in the gutters of a few leaves, plate  torn and repaired in subject, other minor repairs, offsetting (mostly light) affecting some plates, occasional stains.
58 (of 61?) hand-colored engraved un-numbered plates after drawings by Charton, of a wide variety of natural history subjects, mostly flowers, with animals and some figurative scenes, set in exotic arrangements; including plants from China, Japan, India, Africa, Europe, North and South America.
VERY RARE, and unrecorded by most of the standard bibliographies. Nissen cites the title as a Collection de 12 cahiers des plantes étrangers, fleurs, fruites, corails et coquillages (Paris, 1784) and does not give the number of plates. There is no text.
