CHURCHILL, Sir Winston Spencer (1874-1965). Photograph signed (on lower margin 'W.S. Churchill'), a dramatic image by Allan Moe of Churchill at a lectern giving a speech, 10 October 1950, 248 x 163mm (signature slightly faded, wear to four areas in lower and upper left margin, creased, tear approx. 105mm from upper margin); with another image of Churchill on the same occasion.
Churchill was given an honorary doctorate at the University of Copenhagen on 10 October 1950; the image of his address on the occasion of his installation was taken by Allan Moe, the royal photographer of the Berlingske Tidende, with the signature being obtained at the official banquet by Eigil Vern, Lord Chamberlain to the Danish royal household.
