Original red cloth, spines lettered in gilt, dust-jackets (lower cover of vol. IV dampstained, lower wrapper of jacket of vol. IV severely torn with some loss, some minor tears and staining to other jackets). Provenance: ''W.M.G.'' (''ex libris'' sticker incorporating a unicorn in vols. II - IV). FIRST EDITION, SIGNED AND DATED 1959 BY THE AUTHOR ON HALF TITLE OF VOL. ONE. Woods A138a. Loosely-inserted is a contemporary monochrome photograph of Churchill being lead from a car under an umbrella, stamped on verso ''Daily Express Copyright. Reproduction in any form without Permission strictly forbidden.'' (4)
