217 x 145mm. 79 vellum and 1 paper leaves, lacking first vellum leaf, written in brown ink with headings in pink, five pages with notarial or secretarial comments, including Aloys Lambertus. Elucidating the jurisdiction of the Venetian state in its territories (partial fading of text). AN ELEGANT CONTEMPORARY VENETIAN BINDING; gold-tooled brown morocco, sides with large foliate Arabesque in outline within a blind-ruled frame with gilt corner fleurons, reserving a central shaped compartment with Contarini's name lettered in gilt on the upper side, and dated 1572 on the lower side, spine in compartments with gilt fleurons (rebacked preserving some of the original spine, repairs, lacking ties).
