Lot Essay

The artist was the master of A. J. Eymer, as attested by their similar styles. (2) Steffelaar travelled to Germany in 1836. This drawing, comparable to a landscape of the same area in the Printroom of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, was presumably done on that journey
