The Herdershoeve was designed by the well-known architect Wouter Christiaan Hamdorff (1890-1965) between 1919 and 1922. This charming country house was commissioned by the stock broker Wilhelm Drukker and may be considered to be a representative example of Hamdorff's style. The house was demolished some time ago to make room for a more extensive development on its grounds. Hamdorff's original designs for the Herdershoeve are kept at the Nederlands Architectuur Instituut in Rotterdam (Nai/HAMD t18, ph44-52).
