FIRST EDITION. Under Charles IX, the implementation of edicts passed at the Council of Trent was contested in France, where only those not infringing the rights of the monarch were accepted. Jacob ben David Marcaria printed mostly Hebrew books, but did several Latin productions, including this, on commission during the Council of Trent. Adams C-1397.
