Mauritius, Reunion and Cape Town,: an album including 75 photographs mounted recto and verso on 70 card leaves, the majority titled in ink and on leaves, hand coloured illuminated frontispiece with compilors name. Oblong 2° (280 x 380mm), original leather, cloth cover (worn).
The album includes fine views and panoramas of Port Louis and surroundings, and the gardens of Pamplemousses, Mauritius, St. Denis and Salazie in Reunion and numerous photographs of the compilor's(?) Royal Artillery Regiment parading. Two photographs of a memorial to the men of No. 10 Battery, 7th Brigade, Royal Artillery who died in Mauritius between July 1876 and September 1880, suggest Craig was a Royal Artillery officer stationed in the Mauritius, c.1872-1880.
