Between 1829 and 1838 Cox exhibited 43 continental views at the Old Watercolour Society. Cox's final journey to the Continent was in 1832 when he visited the north coast of France. On his 1832 trip he concentrated on the three ports of Calais, Boulogne and Dieppe. Cox's previous tours included Belgium and Flanders in 1826 and a tour of France in 1829, where he met with F.L.T. Francia (1772-1839).
