Engraved throughout, without title and text (as issued). 161 engraved plates (numbered in ink 1-159 with two bis. plates) by Nicolas Robert, Abraham Bosse and Louise de Chatillon after Roberts, with occasional engraved additions and alterations by Jean Marchant, all numbered in ink, mostly with additional captions in ink or pencil. (Light darkening or dust soiling, last 20 plates with marginal ink stain). Contemporary calf (rebound, old sides laid down). Provenance: purchased from Hamill and Barker, 1962.
