EARHART, AMELIA, Aviator. Autograph note signed ("A.E.") to Lloyd Royer, [West Medford, Massachusetts, 8 November 1924]. 2 pages, an oblong notecard, with original envelope.
"DON'T FORGET TO KEEP A DESIGN FOR A NICE LITTLE PLANE IN MIND"
A friendly note: "Thank you for contents of last letter, I feel quite worthy. I wrote Mr. Kinner and told him I would accept his offer. Don't forget to keep a design for a nice little plane in mind, for I shall want one sometime, L. Royer builder and designer. I think Kinner is becoming careless, Pud always thought he was and it always distressed him. Tell Harry's wife she better stay out there as living is high in the east and it is so crowded..."
Amelia Earhart met Lloyd Royer, an airplane engineer, in 1920 or 1921, just as she was becoming interested in flying. They developed a close friendship, and eventually became involved in several disastrous financial projects.
