'Edward Bear', a Steiff teddy bear
with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads, hump and FF button in ear, circa 1907 --20in. (50.5cm.) high (hand pads recovered, very slight wear, front faded, a few nose stitches loose and right ear attached incorrectly)
Edward was probaby bought in 1906 or 1907 from La Trobe's Toy Shop, Queens Road, Bristol in England. He has been in the same family all his life and has been passed down through three generations. He has been wearing his smocked dress for many years.
