Rivington, 1802-1808. 5 in 3 volumes, 8 (226 x 136mm.) 120 hand-coloured engraved plates by and after Donovan. (Occasional light browning to plates.) Mid-19th century green half-morocco, spines gilt in six compartments with raised n=bands, lettered in the second, numbered in the third, the other compartments with repeat decoration around a large central fish-tool, g.e. First edition. The finely coloured plates, some hightened with gold and silver, depict all of the common British fish species as well as a number of rarer visitors: sun-fish, king-fish, electric-ray, and others. Nissen ZBI 1141. (3)
